Guinea-Bissau, 1969. A violent war is raging between the Portuguese colonial army and the guerrillas of the African Party for the Independence of Guinea-Bissau. NOME falls in love for his cousin Nambu, who has just arrived in the village. After getting her pregnant, he flees for fear of dishonour and joins the guerrillas. When the war is over, Nome returns to the village with new intentions for his future. In his third feature film, Sana Na N'hada tells the story of the men and women who fought for a free Guinea-Bissau in which there would no longer be "masters, whites or blacks", with the expectations of independence but also the bitterness of it.
